Throwing together five girls from all walks of life and all corners of the great United States into a new pop group makes one wonder just how they are going to succeed. Being handpicked by the hard core record executives who've seen it all, one would also assume that they are the best of the best. Being a hard judge of new artists ourselves, we found this hard to believe. Listening to Eden's Crush's debut album Popstars (a little presumptious, aren't we?), we realize that not only do these girls have looks and decent voices, but they also have an edge. Their songs revolve around the same theme of "girl wants boy, boy doesn't want girl" (if you've heard the debut single Get Over Yourself, then you've heard pretty much the entire album.) The group carries themselves well, giving each song it's own individual flair and adding a rap edge into the chorus. If you've been curious enough to catch even a peek of their popular TV show, this album is may be for you. With the already familiar songs from the show, including You Know I Can (which was originally written for Christina Aguilera), this album also holds some cultural surprises. The album screams summer release, but even so, it will have some success. It's upbeat, fun, and well worth a listen. Why not contribute to Pop Culture hysteria?
